This Tuesday the Stadia Community team announced via a reddit post that there is going to be a change of pace for the”This Week on Stadia” updates which are usually posted to the Stadia Community Blog every Tuesday around 9:00 AM (PST). “We’ll be moving This Week on Stadia to a bi-weekly cadence” the post reads, shifting the weekly updates to an every other week pace.
While still say that they are committed to bringing us continuing updates in the form of Game Announcements, Developer Q & As, Stadia Developer Blogs, and to keep pace with the monthly Stadia Savepoint Blog posts. While also claiming that they will be using the weeks without “TWOS” posts to interact with the community more directly. They also noted that there will still be a “TWOS” post this week, but it has been delayed until later in the week.
The people who have always hated Stadia, or who are usually looking for it’s downfall will see this has evidence of a further dying platform. Dedicated fans will see this has another non-news item that really doesn’t mean much for the platform overall. I tend to agree with the latter on this one.
I believe that making news less regular will make the news given to us feel more important, and I also feel like a lot of “TWOS” posts have really been filler anyway. Not to mention that since this news has released the Stadia Community team has dropped two separate non-“TWOS” Blogs posts with new news in both of these posts. It doesn’t seems like the change of pace for “TWOS” will effect the team much after all.
